Abstract: In Vietnam, in the context of a fundamental and comprehensive renovation of education in the spirit of transforming from content-based education to education that develops the quality and capacity of learners; STEM education and experiential activities are encouraged to be implemented in schools from preschool, elementary, middle, and high school levels. Besides, Natural Science is an integrated subject between Physics, Chemistry, and Biology; is a convenient subject for organizing and implementing STEM education-oriented experiential activities. The STEM education-oriented natural science experience is a new educational model, and schools still face many physical difficulties when implementing practical activities, experiments, and scientific research, modeling Physics, Chemistry, and Biology. From that, it can be seen that the facilities are one of the factors contributing to the success of the operation. Therefore, it is necessary to propose a management model for the purpose of developing facilities in schools in order to create favorable conditions for teachers to implement STEM education-oriented natural science experiences. On the basis of theory, the research paper proposes a model of infrastructure development that contributes to supporting STEM experiences in natural sciences at the lower secondary level. The research results suggest the content and implementation method of surveying, planning, organizing, directing, and checking the implementation results. The research gives meaning to education managers to apply theory to practice to develop facilities in schools, contributing to improving the quality of education in the locality and national education.

Abstract: This case study explores a Catholic, Jesuit high school’s efforts to systematize a long-term strategic process to explore student attrition, retention, and successful persistence. Schools tend to do an exemplary job of gathering data on these issues, but investing staffing, resources, and time to do a regular deep dive analysis of the data, identifying the barriers contributing to attrition, and then determining next action steps to improve on retention and successful persistence efforts can prove elusive. A long-term strategy for the school involves key constituents, offices, and departments in the school working in collaboration with one another to address issues of student attrition and retention. School mission, school finances, ideal student enrollment number, academic expectations/requirements, student support systems, student culture/climate, post high school experiences etc. are all linked to issues of student inclusion, attrition, retention, and successful persistence. While a case-by-case approach has been successful, a macro strategic approach is needed that addresses these efforts overall on a larger scale with equitable policies, resource allocation, and processes in place that are transparent and accessible to anyone in the community. This case study studied a school’s attempt for a more large-scale, mission centered strategic approach to gather data by exploring the barriers students face in their successful persistence at the school, data analysis models that can inform and address these barriers, and to determine an ongoing process for discussion, analysis, and action steps for the school to embark on. This includes schools looking at student attrition, retention, and successful persistence through a mission focus lens, the demographic trends of the clientele the school is serving, and its long-term sustainability.

Abstract: This study aims to obtain the development of digital pantun text teaching materials oriented towards honest characters and creative learning for class VII junior high school students so that this teaching material can be an alternative that can be used for rhyme learning in class. This digital pantun teaching material adopts student learning needs that are all digital with an orientation towards strengthening aspects of honesty and creative learning. Researchers use the Canva application to create digital pantun text teaching materials. The research method used is the development research method with the ADDIE model steps (Analyze, Design, Develop, Implement, and Evaluate) which are analyzed using descriptive-qualitative data techniques. Beginning with analyzing the 2013 curriculum related to core competencies and basic competencies in Indonesian language lessons regarding People's Poetry (rhyme) then analyzing pantun texts sourced from a book entitled Anthology of Old Archipelago Poetry Contains Advice written by Siti Zahra Yundiafi et al published by the Language Center of the Department Jakarta National Education in 2002. For the next stage the digital pantun text teaching materials were validated by 2 experts (materials and media), and 4 practitioners from high school teachers (MTs, MA,). Based on the results of validation by experts and educational practitioners, they obtained an average score of 84% with a very decent category in terms of content, presentation, language and graphic feasibility. Pantun text digital teaching materials were tested on 30 MTs students by giving pre-test and post-test. The results of this implementation show that there are differences between before the experiment and after the experiment so that it can be concluded that digital pantun text teaching materials are suitable for use in school learning.

Abstract: This study examines the teachers’ work motivation level and its critical determinants in public secondary schools. The study was carried out using a convergent parallel mixed method design. 75 secondary school teachers participated in this study. Quantitative data were collected using five-point Likert scale questionnaires, while qualitative data were collected through a semi-structured interview with five participants. The quantitative data were analyzed using both descriptive statistics and inferential statistics such as frequency and percentage were used to analyze background data, and inferential statistics like the t-test, one-way ANOVA, and multiple regression analysis were used to answer the research questions whereas the data collected from the interviews was analyzed thematically. The quantitative and qualitative findings indicated that the work motivation levels of the teachers varied depending on the variables of age, gender, education level, and professional experience. Furthermore, both quantitative and qualitative findings indicated that the work environment, reward system, and work itself all played a role in determining secondary school teachers' work motivation. School principals and woreda education offices are recommended to create a safe school environment by fulfilling facilities, designing and implementing teacher reward systems, and providing a variety of training opportunities in order to make the teaching and learning process more attractive and thereby to develop teachers' interest and motivation in their profession.
